Would you like to take better photos? Would you like to learn some of the techniques professionals use? In just one weekend we can help transform your photography from ordinary snapshots to beautiful images. On the first of our two-day workshop, we focus on improving composition. We will cover the following topics: envisioning the shot, looking at the light, compositional techniques, and making the shot. On the second day, we look at developing a image workflow and post processing techniques. We’ll use our images from the first day, bring them from camera to PC, then optimize them in post production, and ready the image for print or for sharing via social media.

Taking a photo is easy. Taking a photo you can be proud of is more difficult. At our weekend workshop, you will learn easy techniques that will improve your photos. These techniques are the foundation you need to take your photography to the next level. They are easy and fun to implement. After some instruction, we will put your new learnings to use at a sunset photo shoot. On the second day, you will learn to move the photos from your camera into a computer. After some basic editing skills, you can transform your photo into a memory. The target audience is for beginners to intermediate photographers who would like to improve their ability to take a wonderful picture. As long as you have a DSLR (we shoot Nikon but others are welcome), a laptop computer (we are Mac users), Adobe Lightroom (trial copy is fine), and a tripod you can successfully take and process your photos in our workshop. We will provide instruction on the basic use of Lightroom and image composition. In addition, we will host group critique sessions. The itinerary below may be adjusted based on the time of year and weather. Day 1 (Saturday):
